Tuttarvik

Connecting Inuit to employment, training, and skills development opportunities
Tuttarvik is a central resource to help employers recruit Qikiqtani Inuit for employment or training opportunities. Tuttarvik includes a website and mobile app that helps job seekers make a resume, promote skills, apply for jobs and find training opportunities. The simple and user-friendly resume builder was co-developed with Inuit in the Qikiqtani Region. Making a resume is easy now, and Inuit can highlight traditional skills to employers.

The Qikiqtani Skills and Training for Employment Partnership (Q-STEP) program is one opportunity available through Tuttarvik. Register online and watch instructional videos to learn more on the Tuttarvik website.

Q-STEP – Increasing Employment and Training Opportunities for Inuit

We are collaborating with more organizations to develop training and employment opportunities, including wage subsidies for employers who hire Q-STEP participants. Training is available for heavy equipment operator, driver training and work readiness. The Inuit Training and Development Program aims to provide career development and mobility for underemployed Inuit with opportunities for career development and promotions, including trades, administration and management.

Since 2017-18, Q-STEP has provided pre-employment training for Inuit in the Qikiqtani Region with funding from the Government of Canada and Kakivak Association. Q-STEP provides certified and transferrable skills through training programs for Inuit across the Qikiqtani Region.
